대학로 is overflowing w/ plays based on comics(animated films). For example, you might have seen some of these plays :
…… Why do people make the comics to another forms, plays? I guess it’s because some common and different things between them.

I’d like to start off by saying some common points. First, both of them are a genre of story telling arts that gives impression, catharsis, and amusement. It means that a play using same story w/ it can bring audiences almost same interests if a comic book was popular. Second, the two arts especially attach importance to ‘visual effects’. And, both one reading comic books and the other seeing plays anticipate enjoying fantasy world through it. For these points, people don’t have unwelcome attention(aversion) in spite of different things.
There’s my favorites quote, that I love, by Art Spiegelman, where he says,
“Comics, which is more flexible(softer) than plays, is also profounder than movies.”
I believe it’s the best expression to show the characteristics of comics making a clear distinction w/ plays. It is enough familiar and easy for any age groups to access. Not to mention, it deserves to be speculated(speculating) on because of deep meanings in it.

I guess the principal factor is contents(what are they telling about?) rather than forms( What forms of art do they use?). both plays and comics are enough possible to be successful because of their common points, and their some different peculiarities making them more attractive distinguished arts.
